Our History
The MacGillivray Law office began serving Logan County in 1965 when Douglas MacGillivray established the practice in downtown Bellefontaine, Ohio.
In the mid-1970s, the firm purchased and renovated the historic William Lawrence mansion, now listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks. This building has been the anchor for the firm and has often been called the most beautiful law office in Bellefontaine. Doug’s daughter, Linda, joined the firm in 1989 and Veronica Armstrong joined the team in 2022. Recent firm alumni include The Honorable Jacob Estes, Bellefontaine Municiple Court Judge; The Honorable Greg Harvey, Champaign Municiple Court Judge; and The Honorable Sarah Warren, Logan County Magistrate.
Together, Linda and Veronica bring over 35 years of combined experience. Both attorneys have backgrounds in criminal justice, Linda as an Assistant Prosecutor and Veronica as a Criminial Defense Attorney. Linda’s primary focus is Probate and Estate Planning, and Veronica’s is Criminal Defense and Juvenile Law.
The firm continues its long-standing tradition of providing personal legal service in Logan County and the surrounding areas. The MacGillivray building also houses two accounting firms and one financial advisor for the convenience of its clientele.
